COVID-19 Update

Active Orthodontics

Dr Cook and the team at Active Orthodontics consider the health and well being of our patients, family and friends of the utmost importance. The federal government guidelines to limit the spread of the COVID-19 infection through the community are changing daily but we have introduced a management policy that includes:

  • Deferring appointments for patients who:
    • Report or present with current flu symptoms including a sore throat, temperatures, headache or body aches
    • Have returned from overseas in the past 14 days
    • Have been in contact with anybody who has returned from overseas in the past 14 days
    • Have been in contact with anybody who suspects they have the COVID-19 infection
    • Restricting only one person to accompany a patient into the surgery – all others will required to wait outside the reception area
    • Strongly discouraging an accompanying a person over the age of 60 years from attending the practice or waiting in the reception area
    • Policing of social distancing in reception area

Medical Alert: Coronavirus COVID-19. With the global spread of COVID-19, we will now ask ALL those attending our practice if they have flu-like symptoms, have travelled overseas or been in contact with anybody who has travelled overseas in the past 14 days. If a patient or any accompanying person answers YES to any of these questions, we will require that an appointment be delayed 14 days or until a medical authority confirms clearance of COVID-19. We appreciate your support and assistance with this requirement in the interests of patients, parents/ carers, our staff and extended family.
